About Organization

The Product Portfolio Management Section drives the planning, strategy, and execution of new business initiatives at Rakuten Mobile. This section provides coordination, support, and consultation across departmental boundaries to facilitate the successful launch of various new products and services.

This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all phases of business development, from the incubation phase (0 to 1) to the growth phase (1 to 10). Individuals can manage projects from strategic planning through execution, engaging deeply with both management and operational aspects. The role allows for communication with management layers, providing a bird's-eye view, while also being deeply involved in specific business areas. Experience in business promotion and development within Rakuten Mobile, a key focus area of the Rakuten Group - one of Japan's largest ecosystems - is a significant aspect. This role impacts society by balancing the dynamism of a large enterprise with the agility of a venture company, fostering personal growth through engagement with global stakeholders from business development to engineering.

The Product Portfolio Management Section belongs to the Strategy & Product Office, which comprises three organizations: one focused on examining business strategies, one managing services post-launch, and a cross-functional organization that fosters synergies through mutual cooperation among these groups.

Job Duties

As a Business Producer, the role involves generating new business ideas, including both B2B and B2C initiatives, strategy planning, business planning, reporting to management in English, and the launch of new businesses within Rakuten Mobile. Rakuten Mobile is one of the Rakuten Group's most focused sectors, operating within one of Japan's largest ecosystems.

This position requires driving projects forward by engaging numerous stakeholders, including sales, marketing, shop/customer support, development teams, legal, and other back-office staff.

Strategy & Product Office, to which Product Portfolio Management Section belongs, consists of three organizations;

- Organization that examines business strategies

- Organization that manages services after launch

- Cross-functional organization that creates synergies through mutual cooperation among the above organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience of new service and new product development.
• Experience with IT-related business development (services, products (regardless for your own company or other companies)).
• Communication with various stakeholders, experience of coordinating interests.
• Ability to execute multiple projects quickly and with high quality
• Ability to flexibly correspond to environmental changes
• English proficiency above business level

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in consulting or similar area
• Experience in driving cross-organizational projects
• Experience in business creation and new business planning to execution
• Work experience related to telecommunications business
